Websites and SEOFor beauty and wellness studios

I build the site, then I do the unglamorous work that gets it found. Based in San Diego, working with studios anywhere.

No retainerDecisions from your dataYou own everything

Selected work: Sculpt by Rind, The Rejuv Room, Daoist Aesthetics, Healthy Skin Club, Collectivate, fivepointfive, Deep Wave, Soma by Katarina.

You've put down the roots.

I'll help you bloom.

You put everything into your studio. You deserve someone who brings that same care to how it shows up online.

  • 01

I Learn the Business Before I Open a Design Tool

Which treatment actually pays the rent, which one you'd rather stop offering, who walks in on a Tuesday. A site built without knowing that is decoration.

  • 02

I Find the Searches That End in a Booking

Not the ones with the biggest numbers. “facials” is a research search; “facials near me open sunday” is someone with their card out. I build for the second kind.

  • 03

    Everything Points at One Button

Most studio sites make a ready-to-book visitor take four or five taps to get there. Every one of those loses people who had already decided. I count them, then I remove them.

    The Unglamorous Half Nobody Does

Structured data, a claimed Google Business Profile, your address written identically everywhere it appears. It is tedious, it is most of local ranking, and it is where I find the biggest gaps.

    You Own All of It

Your account, your domain, your content, plus written guides for running it yourself. Nothing stops working if we part ways, and there is nothing to cancel. If you ever want to take it elsewhere, you can, without asking me for anything.

Audit your studio's site

I'll read your site the way Google does and show you what's actually deciding whether local clients find you. Unedited, in about thirty seconds. Then four questions no crawler can answer.

Takes about 30 seconds. Nothing is stored and nothing is sent to me unless you choose to send it.

And the part Google can't see

An audit reads your code. It can't tell whether you show up in a local search, or whether someone can actually book you.

Search your main service plus your city. Are you on page one?

Use an incognito window, otherwise Google flatters you.

Is your Google Business Profile claimed, with photos and current hours?

The single biggest lever in local search, and the most often left half-finished.

Can a first-time visitor book in two taps from your homepage?

Count them. Most studios are at four or five.

Is your name, address and phone identical everywhere online?

Yelp, Apple Maps, directories. One mismatched suite number costs you rankings.

After the site goes live

The work doesn't stop at handover

Most of the industry disappears the day the site goes live. That is also the day you stop being able to tell whether any of it worked. So I measure before, I measure after, and then I keep measuring and send you the results every month.

  1. Before I touch anything

    A baseline, on the record

I measure every page for speed and technical health, and pull your existing Google Search Console history. It goes into a written baseline so there is a fixed 'before' to hold the work against later. Nobody has to take my word for whether things improved.

    • Baseline report
    • Full site crawl
    • Speed scores, every page
  2. When the work ships

Two guides that make it yours

You get the same measurements taken again, side by side with the baseline, and two written guides. The care guide is how to run and edit the site yourself. The design guide is your palette, your type and where each colour belongs, so your Instagram, your printed menu and your signage can match the site without guessing at hex codes.

    • Website care guide
    • Website design guide
    • Completion report, before and after
    • Keyword strategy, from your real search data
  3. Every month after that

    A report that keeps arriving

I keep pulling your Search Console data each month and send you a plain-English report: what people searched, where you turned up, what moved, and what I am watching next. It is included with your build, there is no retainer, nothing auto-renews, and it carries on after the project is finished.

    • Monthly performance report
    • Priority searches, scored
    • Included, not a subscription

Not a promise for later: every studio I have delivered is on this already, and Sculpt by Rind has 17 months of month-by-month Search Console history behind it.

Three ways to grow your studio

No retainers, no padded packages. Each one is scoped to where your business actually is right now.

Meet Jacob

Hi! Thanks for browsing, I'm Jacob.

I started Bloom Street because I've been exactly where you are. You have a beautiful business and you care deeply about your clients, but you're not yet being recognized enough online. You know your business is better than a big box spa but you can't seem to show up on the top of Google. I went through the same thing, eventually getting my small business to number one on Google, without paying a fortune and without losing control of my website. Now, I want to do the same for you.

Running that studio got me tangled up in the beauty and wellness community here in San Diego, which is home and where most of my clients still are. I work with studios anywhere now. Local search doesn't behave any differently three states over, and the part that is genuinely local, knowing the ground and who you're up against, is work I'd be doing at the start of your project regardless.

One last thing, since you've read this far. I think a business should exist to leave its corner of the world a little better than it found it. Not save it, just improve it slightly. Plenty of people will happily sign a brand new esthetician onto a monthly retainer she doesn't need yet, and I would rather be the one who tells her the truth and charges her three hundred and fifty dollars. That is genuinely the whole plan. Can't wait to see you bloom.

My background

US Navy Veteran
Specialized in computer information systems, which is the half of this job most people mean when they say the technical side: schema, code injection, redirects, the setup underneath the design.
I Did This For My Own Business First
I founded and ran Deep Wave, a red light therapy studio in San Diego, and did every piece of its website and local SEO myself. It reached #1 for twelve non-brand San Diego searches and held a top three spot for its main term across nine straight months.
AAS in Business Data Analytics, pursuing BA in Software Development
It's the reason you get a monthly report with your own Search Console numbers in it rather than my opinion on how things seem to be going.
I Only Work In One Industry
Beauty and wellness, nothing else. I know the vocabulary, which treatments people search for by name, and which of those searches end in an appointment rather than a browse. None of it gets learned on your budget.

Before you ask

The questions I always get

If yours isn't here, just ask. I'd rather answer it now than have you wondering.

Do you only work with studios in San Diego?

No. Most of my clients are here and it's home, but the work is remote and local search doesn't behave differently in Sarasota than it does in North Park. The genuinely local part is knowing the ground: which neighborhoods people actually search by, who you're really up against, what a treatment goes for in your market. So for a city I don't know, learning it is the front of the project rather than something I skip.

It's just me, and I'm brand new. Am I too small for this?

You're who I built this for. A new esthetician with one room is the person most likely to be told to wait until she's bigger, or to be signed onto a monthly retainer that eats the profit before there is any. Neither is good advice. You need the fundamentals done properly once, and then to be left alone to run your business, which is the entire shape of what I sell.

How long does a project take?

Two to four weeks for most builds, depending on how quickly copy and photos come back to me. The SEO Tune-Up is usually about a week. I only take a couple of projects at a time, so you're never waiting behind a queue.

Do I own the website afterwards?

Completely. It's your Squarespace account, your domain, your content. There's no retainer, no license, and nothing stops working if we part ways. If you ever want to move on, or hand it to somebody else, everything is already in your name and the care guide says where all of it lives. You shouldn't have to ask permission to leave.

What happens after you hand it over?

You get a walkthrough and two written guides. The care guide covers running and editing the site yourself. The design guide is your palette and type, with hex codes and where each colour belongs, so your Instagram, printed menus and signage can match the site without anyone guessing. You also get a performance report from me each month showing what people searched and where you turned up. Most clients never need to ask me for anything beyond that, which is the point.

Is the monthly report really included, or is it a subscription in disguise?

It's included, and nothing auto-renews. I pull your Google Search Console data at the start of each month and write up what actually happened: the searches you appeared for, where you ranked, what moved, and what I'm watching next. I built the tooling once and it runs across every client, so it costs me very little to keep sending. There's no retainer and no card on file, and you aren't signing up for anything to receive it.

Can you work with my existing booking system?

Yes. Squarespace accepts most booking widgets, and where a system doesn't offer one I can embed or link it directly instead. The goal is always fewer taps between landing on your site and having an appointment booked.

How soon will I see results in Google?

Technical fixes register within days. Real ranking movement usually takes six to twelve weeks, and local competition affects that. Anyone promising page one in a fortnight is either guessing or lying. You'll have your own Search Console login from day one, so you can watch it happen yourself rather than take my word for it.

Why is this so much cheaper than an agency?

Because it's me, and the price only has to cover the work. There's no office, no account manager, no sales team, and no monthly retainer quietly funding all of that. I also built the reporting and audit tooling once and it runs across every client at the same time, so the parts that usually get billed by the hour cost me very little to repeat. That's what lets me do this properly at a price a one-room studio can say yes to.

Beep me

Tell me about your studio and what you're trying to fix. I read every message myself and usually reply within a day.

Taking two projects for September.
